Accessibility is no longer optional

The European Accessibility Act has been fully applicable since 28 June 2025 and it covers private businesses too. Here's what it means in practice.

What the law says
Digital products and services — e-commerce, banking, transport, communications — must be usable by people with disabilities, following WCAG 2.1 level AA.
Who must comply
E-commerce and online services aimed at European consumers. Only service microenterprises are exempt: fewer than 10 employees and under €2 million turnover.
What's at stake
Administrative fines, consumer complaints and forced remediation. Not to mention lost customers: about one in four European adults lives with some form of disability.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official compliance certification?

No. No automated tool can certify legal compliance. EAA Sentinel is a technical diagnostic tool: it tells you what's wrong and how to fix it. Every report includes a transparent disclaimer about this.

How many issues does the automated scan detect?

Automated analysis (based on axe-core, the industry standard) detects on average 30-40% of WCAG issues: the ones a machine can verify. It covers the most frequent and quickest-to-fix problems; full verification also requires manual testing.

My site is built with WordPress, Shopify or Wix: does it work?

Yes. We analyse your site exactly as a real visitor sees it, with a real browser: the underlying technology doesn't matter.

What does the €49 full report include?

Analysis of up to 50 pages, every issue found sorted by severity, the exact pages and elements involved, fix instructions and a technical verification badge — it attests that the site was checked, it is not a certification. As a PDF, ready to hand to your developer.
